About Me - Teaching - Research - Taught MSc
Activities
I carry out research and occasionally supervise students at the Telecommunications Software & Systems Group (TSSG) at Waterford Institute of Technology. The vision of the TSSG is to develop a service framework that allows for ubiquitous service solutions for a disappearing communication infrastructure. My specialism is network security and my main current focus in trust models and their applications, especially in distributed intrusion detection. I currently participate in the CoMiFin (Communications Middleware for Monitoring Financial Critical Infrastructure) project. CoMiFin is funded by the European Commission under the FP7 ICT programme. I recently participated in FP6 project OPAALS (Open Philosophies for Associative Autopoietic Digital Ecosystems) and before that in FP6 project SEINIT (Security Expert Initiative).
